Traveling with children and infants

Birth Certificate is the document valid for air carriage of children under 16 years old within Kazakhstan.

For passenger with children/infants Online check-in service is available, but BOARDING PASSES cannot be printed out and must be collected at the airport at least 1 hour before departure.

If the adult passenger accompanying the child during the flight is not one of his parents, he must provide the original of notarized power of attorney from the parents to accompany the child for transportation.

Passengers with children/infants are not allowed to take seats in emergency rows (rows 12-13) due to safety regulations.

Infants under the age of two years can travel free of charge without allocated seat. However, in accordance with safety regulations each infant should be issued a separate ticket.

Please note, each FlyArystan aircraft is equipped with a limited number of emergency equipment (15 life jackets and safety belts) for infants. Based on the numbers of tickets issued for children under 2 years old, air company can manage permissible number of infants on board.

Thus, FlyArystan can refuse to accept infant without issued ticket due strict limitation on the number of infants on board.

  • One infant can be accompanied only by one adult passenger over 18 age.
  • Only one infant is allowed to take seat in each row on each side of the aisle. If there are more than one infant in the same row, crew members may transfer passengers.
  • A child safety seat for infant is permitted onboard. In order to carry on a child safety seat onboard a separate ticket, providing individual place, must be issued. It is charged according to available fare. A child safety seat must meet technical requirements of the air company. More information here.
  • If baby bassinet is required, you will need to purchase the 1st row seat;
  • New mothers after childbirth and newborn children are not permitted to fly within the first 7 days after birth 
  • Passenger is allowed to carry on board one collapsible stroller that matches our cabin baggage dimension including all its elements (56*45*20 cm when folded), in addition to his/her free cabin baggage allowance. If your stroller is larger than our carry-on baggage limit, it must be checked in as checked baggage free of charge. More details here 
  • Children under 16 years old must be accepted for carriage accompanied by adult passenger over 18 years old.
  • The child must be included in the same reservation as the adult passenger accompanying him
  • If the adult passenger accompanying the child during the flight is not his parent, he must present at the check-in desk the original of notarized power of attorney from the parents to accompany the child for transportation.

An unaccompanied minor is a child from 6 to 16 years inclusive not being accompanied by an adult passenger on domestic flights.

From 16 years old, passengers can travel alone.

Passengers of 16-17 years old can not be accepted alone on flights from 23:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

An unaccompanied minor transportation is a chargeable service and should be paid additionally to the ticket price. Learn more about the service here.

Baby strollers:

  • Passenger is allowed to carry on board one collapsible baby stroller that matches our cabin baggage dimension including all its elements (56*45*20 cm when folded), in addition to his/her free cabin baggage allowance.
  • If baby stroller is larger than our carry-on baggage limit, it must be checked in as checked baggage free of charge.
  • Passengers are responsible for folding and locking strollers properly before delivering them to the ground officials, and for taking any and all measures to prevent its fabric from being worn, becoming dirty and getting wet, etc.
  • You shouldn't leave your personal belongings inside the strollers. Otherwise, the airline company shall not be responsible for any cases where such kind of unchecked belongings gets lost.
  • If the stroller is not meant for a traveling infant or child, it will be carried as paid checked baggage.

Child carsits:

  • In order to carry a child carsit a passenger must purchase a separate seat.  
  • Seat width must not exceed 41 cm. Child safety seat must be with fastener for fixing to a passenger seat. Seat must be certified, as evidenced by the presence of a special mark or label. The airline does not provide passengers with child carsit.
  • While boarding a passenger must carry a child carsit to its seat in a cabin. Flight attendants will help to secure the seat using belts. Child safety seat should be placed by a window seat.
  • The online check-in, as well as self-service kiosks, is not available for passengers willing to carry on a child carsit.
