Unaccompanied Minors travelling onboard: the process and requirements

This guide will help you to prepare an unaccompanied child for the flight

Required documents

⦿ 4 copies of the application form (follow the link) – please fill in, print out, and sign them in advance. View a sample of the completed form here.

⦿ The original birth certificate of the child.

⦿ A notarized letter approving the release of the child to the responsible adult by the child’s parents or legal guardian and the identification document of the responsible adult.

At the airport

⦿ To ensure a smooth check-in process, an unaccompanied child must arrive at the airport no later than 2 hours prior to departure. This allows sufficient time for the necessary checks.

⦿ The ground staff will ensure that all travel documents are completed correctly. 1 copy of the form will be returned to the seeing-off person.

⦿ The child and his/her baggage (if needed) will be checked in. Unaccompanied minors are allocated seats exclusively in the rear row, in compliance with safety regulations.

⦿ The responsible adult, seeing the child off on departure, should stay at the airport until the child is handed over to the agent.

⦿ The unaccompanied child will be supervised (including the security check) until handed over to the cabin crew team.

Boarding & flight

⦿ The child will board in priority & handed over to the cabin crew by the ground services agent.

⦿ In order to supervise the child by flight attendants during the flight, he/she will be given a seat in the last row. Therefore, the "Seat Selection" service is not available for this category of passengers. The unaccompanied passenger will be seated next to a female passenger (the minimum age requirement is 18 age).

⦿ Our cabin crew will make sure that your young traveler has an enjoyable, cozy, and unforgettable trip.

At the destination

⦿ Upon arrival at the destination airport, the unaccompanied minor is the final passenger to disembark from the airplane under the supervision of flight attendants and ground staff receiving the child.

⦿ After confirming the identity of the designated adult mentioned in the application form, the child will be handed over to him/her. The person meeting the child should be prepared to show the ID. The assigned person is fully responsible for the child's well-being after the handover.

⦿ If the person responsible for meeting the child is not present at the airport as planned, the ground staff from the handling company will get in touch with them. If the assigned person cannot be reached within 30 minutes, the child will be handed over to the local police department. The person who accompanied the child to the departure airport will be promptly notified.
