Tips for passengers flying abroad

Check the validity of your travel documents first. The validity of the passport should not expire less than 6 months after the end of the trip.

To pass passport control successfully make sure you are not in the list of debtors who are restricted from traveling outside the Republic of Kazakhstan .

During your stay in a foreign country, you are subject to its laws, which you must strictly observe.

It is recommended to take care of purchasing medical insurance for the period of stay abroad.

Before your trip search if you will have opportunity to purchase the medicines you need without prescription in the country you travel to.

 Entry requirements to Georgia

Passengers traveling to Georgia are strongly advised to have medical insurance, as medical treatment for foreign citizens in Georgia is provided on a commercial basis. It is also recommended to have a hotel reservation, a return airline ticket, and sufficient funds for staying in Georgia (cash, a bank statement, or another document confirming the availability of financial means), as such requirements may be requested by Georgian border officers upon entry. In case of actual payment of additional services in airport in Georgia by non-cash method, commission fees are charged.

 Entry requirements to Turkey

Please note that the passports of the citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan travelling to Turkey must be valid for a minimum of 180 days from the arrival date for them to be able to enter Turkey.

Entry requirements to Azerbaijan

Starting from March 28, 2023, Azerbaijan removes all COVID restrictions for passengers arriving in the country.

Entry requirements to India

Citizens of Kazakhstan require a visa to travel to the Republic of India, which must be obtained in advance.

To avail the services of an electronic visa, a foreign citizen must fill out an online application for an e-Visa at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html

Citizens of Kazakhstan who do not have round-trip tickets may be denied entry.

We inform you that in accordance with the requirements of paragraph 20.A.2. of Order No.02/22 and paragraph 6 of the supplement dated 01/19/2023, the aviation authorities of the Republic of India (Bureau of Civil Aviation Security) officially notified that on board an aircraft bound for India it is prohibited to carry satellite phones and GPS devices (like Garmin) and their analogues in any kind of baggage.

Attention! For departures from India:

To enter the international terminals of airports in India, you need to show a valid flight ticket or e-ticket itinerary for that day. The persons accompanying you will not be allowed to enter the terminal. 

Passenger and baggage check-in at Indian airports for FlyArystan flights is done at "Air Astana" counters, and the flights displayed under the "Air Astana" logo on the departures/arrivals screens.

Entry requirements to Uzbekistan

According to the order of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan with internal Russian passports, entry/exit is allowed only on direct flights to/from the Russian Federation. Passengers arriving/departing to/from Kazakhstan with Russian internal passports will not be allowed through the border service.

  • This regulation also applies to citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan who wish to depart to the Russian Federation via Uzbekistan with an identity card of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the border guards will not let these passengers through.

Passengers with stays longer than three days must register with the local police within three working days of arrival. For passengers staying in a hotel, check-in is carried out by the hotel. Registration is strictly checked when leaving Uzbekistan.

Nationals of Kazakhstan not holding return/onward tickets could be refused entry.

Entry requirements to China

Entry is permitted for nationals of China, Kazakhstan, and other countries with a valid visa to China.

From November 10, 2023, citizens of the People's Republic of China, holders of a semi-official passport, an ordinary passport or a temporary travel document, and citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, holders of a passport or a certificate of return to The  Republic of Kazakhstan are exempt from visa requirementsfor the purposes of private business, tourism, treatment, international transportation, transit, as well as business purposes (conclusion of contracts, negotiations, provision of consulting services and other business purposes) for entry, exit, transit through the territory of the other country for a period not exceeding 30 (thirty) calendar days, in total 90 (ninety) calendar days within 180 (one hundred and eighty) calendar days. From November 1, 2023, the requirement for mandatory completion of the Health declaration form by passengers flying to Urumqi will be cancelled.

Starting from 20 November 2025, foreign nationals entering China can complete their entry information online through the following channels:

  • The official website of the National Immigration Administration of China

  • The Government Service Platform

  • The “Immigration Bureau 12367” mobile application

  • WeChat or Alipay mini-programs

  • Mobile scanning of the QR code on the arrival card declaration form

Foreigners who are unable to complete the declaration online may fill in their arrival information by scanning the QR code at the immigration checkpoint upon arrival in China using on-site smart devices, or by completing a paper arrival card.

The following seven categories of foreigners are exempt from completing the arrival card:

  • Holders of the Permanent Resident Identity Card of the People’s Republic of China

  • Holders of the Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents (non-Chinese citizens)

  • Holders of group visas or individuals eligible for group visa-free entry

  • Transit passengers who remain within the airport restricted area for up to 24 hours

  • Cruise ship passengers entering and exiting on the same cruise vessel

  • Passengers using expedited entry channels

  • Foreign crew members of international transportation vehicles arriving and departing

If a passenger cannot complete the arrival card declaration before boarding, a paper arrival card may be filled out onboard. The paper card holds the same legal effect as the online declaration.

Entry requirements to Bahrain

Kazakhstani citizens need a single-entry visa to visit Bahrain for tourism purposes. The visa can be obtained online via the Electronic Visa Eligibility platform by the following link evisa.gov.bh.

 

This requirement applies to all tourists, regardless of age.

 Entry requirements to UAE

Citizens of Kazakhstan may stay in the UAE visa-free for up to 30 days. It is recommended to have a return ticket, as its absence may lead to questions or denial of entry.

Entry requirements to Kazakhstan

 

Citizens of Bahrain do not need a visa to enter the Republic of Kazakhstan for stays of up to 30 calendar days.
